How to Install RuahStash Procreate Brushes
Installing Procreate brushes is quick and easy. Follow these steps to get started with your RuahStash brush set.
Step 1: Download the .brushset file
After purchase, you'll be redirected to a download link, and you'll also receive that link by email. Download the .brushset file directly to your iPad. You can access your downloads anytime from your account.
Step 2: Locate the file
Open the Files app on your iPad and navigate to your Downloads folder, or wherever you saved the file. You should see a file named 'RuahStash Essentials.brushset' or similar.
Step 3: Import from inside Procreate
Open Procreate and open any canvas. Open the Brush Library, tap the + button, and choose “Import from Files”. Then find your .brushset in Files and tap to import.
Step 4: Find your brushes
In Procreate, tap the Brush tool, then look for 'RuahStash Essentials' in your brush library sidebar. New brush sets are usually added near the top. You can drag the folder to reposition it.
Troubleshooting
- The file won't open in Procreate
- Make sure you're on an iPad with Procreate installed. The .brushset format is specific to Procreate and won't work in other apps. Try long-pressing the file and selecting “Open in Procreate”.
- I can't find the brushes after importing
- Scroll through your brush library sidebar in Procreate. New brush sets are usually added near the top. You can also drag the RuahStash Essentials folder to reposition it.
- My download link expired
- Email links expire after 7 days, but you can always download again from your account. Sign in at ruahstash.com with the email you used for purchase.
Recommended Canvas Settings
These brushes work on any canvas, but here are some tips for the best experience:
- Use a canvas size of at least 2000x2000 pixels for most work. For print, I usually go around 3000x3000 or the equivalent for your aspect ratio.
- Enable pressure and tilt sensitivity for the full brush behavior
- Turn on “Streamline” in brush settings if you want smoother strokes
